“I have always been fascinated by the power of music, from translating the most intimate moment to commanding the masses, it’s a profound connection between us all. It’s with respect for that connection that I approach my work every day.”
– Jason Bentley
Anne Litt is my radio host/DJ idol. She’s been with my favorite station, KCRW, since 1995 and although I don’t always fall in love with the songs she plays, they unfailingly lead me to another artist or remix to crush on. Jason Bentley (you can thank him for the addition of the Best Electronic/Dance Album category to the Grammy’s) is another one of my music messiah’s – one of my beloved morning rituals is running to the varying beats of Morning Becomes Eclectic, his beyond awesome show.
Workday pick-me-up: check out the KCRW Music Blog, stream Anne’s weekend shows, Bentley’s Morning Becomes Eclectic, or sift through the never-ending jam gems you’ll find at your disposal. Below are some of my favorites from Anne’s Sunday show as well as BOY’s live performance on Morning Becomes Eclectic.
Laura Mvula – Green Garden (Monsier Adi Remix)
Quadron – Hey Love
Surfer Blood – Demon Dance
Escondido – Black Roses
James Blake – Retrograde
BOY – Little Numbers
